The primary AC sump pump and battery backup pump come preassembled—including check valves, elbows and pipe already measured and glued—making it fast and hassle-free for you to install the best protection in the industry.

The Basement Watchdog Combo (Model CITE-33) includes two sets of microreed Dual Float Switches. We introduced this technology—proven reliable in other uses for over 50 years—to the pump industry and improved it by including two floats on each pump. Simply stated: if two floats are good, four are better.
The AC pump in the Basement Watchdog Combo (Model CITE-33) moves 3,720 GPH at 0-foot lift and 3,100 GPH at 10 feet, and the battery backup pumps 2,000 GPH at 0-foot lift and 1,000 GPH at 10 feet. Plus, both the primary and backup can run simultaneously, providing extra capacity if the primary pump is overwhelmed by the volume of water in extreme rainstorms.
The battery backup pump on The Basement Watchdog Combo (Model CITE-33) is equipped with an automatic charger that helps extend the life of the battery while maintaining the maximum charge on the battery without overcharging. Plus, it’s compatible with our maintenance-free battery.

A unit of power that indicates how much work a pump can perform when connected to a working wall outlet. The higher the horsepower, the more powerful the pump is, allowing it to move more fluid, overcome greater pressure, or lift fluid to higher elevations
How are pumps cooled? Most pumps are oil filled, using dielectric oil to draw heat from the motor and lubricate the bearings. That oil is in contact with the housing of the pump, which is cooled by the groundwater in the pit. Water-cooled motors have both more efficient motors and better bearings, which create less heat and no need for cooling oil. The motor is pressed directly against the housing, which is cooled by the groundwater in the pit. Note: A small amount (less than 1 oz.) of food-grade oil is in the bearings of a PSC motor for lubrication, not for cooling the pump.
